Other FAQs

Do you charge for your services?

Yes.

What does your service fee cover?

The service fee covers us coming to your site.

What does the price per animal cover?

The price per animal covers us coming to your site, removing the animal from your property, resetting the trap with fresh bait and lure, and relocating or disposing of the captured animal.

How do you prevent catching non-target animals?

We try not to catch pets, which means we have to avoid using cat food or dog food. Our nuisance baits and lures are not formulated to attract the targeted animal from long distances. We set traps near their travel path or entry point.

Do you charge for non-target animals?

Yes. We still have to come to your site and release/remove the animal from your property, re-bait, etc.

What if the trap is stolen?

The customer is responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged traps. Let us know if you feel the trap is at risk.

Can I release an animal from the trap?

No. It's against state law for anyone other than the operator of the trap to touch, tamper with, or move the trap.

Do I have to sign an agreement?

Yes, state law requires we have permission to set traps on private property.

How many traps do you set?

We set a minimum of two humane cage traps unless conditions only allow us to set one.

Where do you set the traps?

On the animal's travel route and as close to the damaged area as possible.

Can the animal get out of the trap?

No, we use a professional-grade trap.

Will you inspect my attic or crawl space?

Yes, after animals have been captured and removed. We will then check for damage, biohazards, and insulation compaction.

How long is my service fee good for?

30 days from the original completion date and throughout the project.

How long will you trap?

As long as there is evidence of activity. If we think we are finished due to nothing moving within 5-7 days, we start the repair/exclusion phase.

Do you repair the damaged areas to prevent further problems with other animals?

Yes. You can select which repairs or exclusion techniques you feel comfortable with.

Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?

All repairs have a minimum 1-year warranty with the option to renew. These warranties only cover our repairs.

What happens if an animal penetrates an area you recommended repair or exclusion work on, and we opt not to do it?

If it is within the 30-day "grace" period, we will not charge you another service fee. All other prices will remain the same.

What if a different species penetrates your repairs?

It's covered under warranty, and the exception is bats getting in through repair work done for another species.

What does exclusion mean?

It is a technique or materials used to protect possible entry points.

How soon can you set traps?

If you contact us early enough, we can do it the same day. If not, we usually come out the next day.

How often do you check traps?

State law requires traps to be checked every 24 hours. If you choose to check the traps and notify us, you will eliminate daily trap maintenance fees.

How do I get in touch with you to make my report?

You are given a business card with our number on the back.

We live out of town and can't check the traps daily. What then?

We can provide the complete service for you.

We are going out of town. What do we do?

Contact us. We'll have a technician schedule trap checks.

Weekends and holidays too?

Yes, we work weekends, but this excludes major holidays. We will notify you when we're not available and deactivate the traps.

How long does it take to pick up an animal once it is captured?

If you report the "catch" by 8 a.m., it will be that day. If an animal is caught later in the day, give us a call at the office. We may have someone in the area and get it picked up that day.

What do you do with the animal once you catch it?

State, federal, and local laws dictate what we can do. If legal and suitable habitat is available, we relocate the animals. High-risk animals must be euthanized.

How do you euthanize the animals or "put them to sleep"?

We utilize humane methods approved by the American Veterinary Association and/or the National Wildlife Control Operators Association Euthanasia Guidelines.

What if there was no animal in the trap when I called in the report, but there is when you come out to re-bait or freshen up the lure?

We will remove the animal and leave you a note or door hanger.

There is an animal stuck in my wall. Can you get it out?

If the animal is actually stuck, we can cut a hole in the wall and remove it.

There is an animal stuck in my fireplace or chimney. Can you get it out?
